Number three was a trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame. I thought it was about time!
25
On October 23, 2010, I turned 25 years old. By October 23, 2011, I plan to have 25 new life experiences. Instead of going through a "quarter-life crisis," I have decided to embark on a journey this year to experience 25 new things. This blog will document my year of 25 through videos, photos and stories.

2/25

My second adventure of 25 took me to our nation's capital!
It seems as if most people experienced Washington, D.C. on a field trip in the fourth or fifth grade, after a long Greyhound bus ride where kids were forced to sit boy-girl, boy-girl. For some reason, I missed that Greyhound bus ride in the fifth grade and ended up taking a Delta flight to D.C. 15 years later on December 10, 2010.
As soon as I stepped off the plane at 10 p.m., I visited several monuments. I was floored. I stood in awe as I approached each monument, thinking of all the things these leaders had accomplished for our country. I think I said, "wow," about a million times.
I also visited Arlington Cemetery. So many brave men and women have made (and continue to make) the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and standing in their presence was really humbling. I really liked the quote below from a monument at Arlington:
"With history the final judge of our deeds, go forth asking His help, but knowing that here on Earth God's work must truly be our own."
I must say, my experience in D.C. for the first time as an adult was probably an entirely different experience than I would have had in the fifth grade. I truly felt an energy and excitement from being in the place where great leaders make history-altering decisions for our country every day. Thank goodness that on this trip I didn't have to sit next to the boy in my fifth grade class who ate glue.

1/25
The first post of a blog is always the hardest. You want to be engaging, funny, heartfelt... interesting. As I sat here trying to think of an opening for this blog, I thought of a few funny things I could write about, but instead decided I'd rather just dive right in. The reason I am on a mission to have 25 new adventures this year is simply because I never want to take one day God gives me for granted. I encourage you to do the same. Some things I post about might be big, and some might be small, but they are all new to me.
So, let's get started! The first new experience of 25 was one of the most challenging and rewarding things I have ever done. I ran in the Ragnar Relay Race from Chattanooga to Nashville.
Check out the video, below, that I made from the race. I will definitely be running it again next year, and I encourage you to look into it for yourself!
